MTR Investors Group started with the goal to go beyond buy and hold investing by timing U.S. stock market intermediate and long term trends. Our stock market timing model was first published on a blog for tracking purposes. The manual update of the timing model on the blog was a tedious task. We shut the blog down after one year and launched the MTR Investors Group web site in March 2009.
MTR Investors Group is a free-site. This web site will move to a modest for-pay site in the future to support growth and new features.
The MTR Timing Model (MTR-TM) is a momentum and trend following timing system. This timing model fully correlates to mid-cap stocks. The MTR-TM correlates well with QQQQ and can be used as an overall stock market timing system.
The MTR Economic Timing Model (MTR-EM) acts as a leading indicator of market direction three to six months in the future. The basis for this model provides insight into the financial health of the consumer. Since consumer spending is the greatest force behind stock market moves, both up and down, knowing where consumer spending will be in the months ahead can be used to position portfolios accordingly.
